https://www.youtube.com/@rob0nemusic369 Colour Clash is a game made by myself,

it is a puzzle platformer speedrunner game

There a 5 levels to play from all with there own unique mechanic to add to each part of the game, this was a university project that I had only 13 weeks to complete. I hope you enjoy what I have to offer ! Colour Clash is a game I had created during my 2nd year at a university known as Futureworks, during this time we had to create a game within a certain time frame whilst sticking to a specialization. What I had picked is level design and game mechanics .

My main focus throughout the project was to have at the very least a fluid and responsive platforming character with a level that expands on the one main mechanic, a button that switches the 2 colours present in the game to be interactable or none interactable. I had used a method throughout my level design process to achieve this

and it is a method the company Nintendo uses to create there levels and it is called the Kishotenketsu development.

What the process does is show the player a new move or mechanic within a safe area of the game allowing them to try again and again with no punishment and then later having the same mechanic present but with now a present danger.

This methodology is what I would take into account to use for not only this project but for any future project I may create.

What I would improve of my project is that although there are mechanics present throughout the game I felt how they where used where underutilized, new colours could have been brought in to add more platforms, more coloured enemy types could have been introduced, save data would have been extremely useful to have for this project but unfortunately due to the time constraint I ultimately had not enough time for creating everything I wanted. However this has been a helpful journey making my confidence in using unreal engine much stronger, yet I know there is much I have yet to learn and I hope to improve with the next project.
